To buttress our research and services, we routinely roll up our sleeves and work on real-world projects. This allows our services to be grounded in the day-to-day reality of our clients’ clients. We typically have only one or two project active at a time, and strive to include both over-the-top cutting-edge projects, as well as more mainstream homes that nonetheless include a breadth of convenience technology.

In nearly all instances, we serve as dealers — fully installing and configuring the products, using the manufacturer-supplied training, instructions and guidelines. For our AV dealers and installers, this allows us to offer meaningful insights that go beyond product performance: manufacturer relations, installation complexity, lead-times and more.

We are often asked about our product portfolio for these projects. The products we select represent the best-of-class for their specific application, and are chosen as a result of the ongoing research and experimentation from our core services. Typically, this is a mix of established and upstart companies.

All clients of our core services have access to our product evaluations, competitive matrices, and custom reports of how their products stack up. These reports may include broad brand positioning suggestions, as well as tactical minutiae from in-the-field experience.
